What is hereditary angioedema?

Hereditary angioedema is a condition of the immune system. It causes severe swelling, in the face, arms, legs, lips, eyes, tongue, throat, airway, and abdominal cramping. The trigger of the episode can be unknown or related to stress or trauma.
